I find Catra’s relationship with Entrapta to be rather complex because Catra does seem to believe Entrapta was left behind and does empathize with her on that point. Still Catra is using in Entrapta but it seems like that is how all Horde relationships work. Adora herself had a hard time understanding friendship for friendship’s sake with Bow and Glimmer. Kids in the Horde are raised to see each other as assets first and foremost.

It’s likely that Catra thinks Scorpia and Entrapta are just using her as well and the relationship is a mutual, I find magic crystal tech for you and get you robots to play with/you make use those things to make weapons for me kind of thing. What will be interesting to see how Catra reacts to Entrapta either becoming a liability or wanting to become friends.

yep! i think that catra genuinely empathizes with both scorpia and entrapta’s feelings of being left behind. although she’s using that to convince them to do what she wants, the underlying connection is sincere. she knows exactly what to say because she feels the same way.

even with adora, their relationship was a mutual promise to protect each other. you protect me, i protect you. they were assets to each other, on top of just being fond of each other.

i think that catra will warm up to entrapta, just as she did to scorpia. she might not openly acknowledge that they’re all friends, but she’ll act in accordance to that. trusting them absolutely, looking out for them in her own way, confiding in them, etc.

but you actually bring up a very interesting idea–what if hordak decides that entrapta is too chaotic, too much of a liability, too risky? what if hordak orders his second-in-command, force captain catra, to either leave entrapta behind or lock her up for real?

if catra reaches a point at which she’ll be the one to have the power to be the one who leaves someone else behind and betray them, how will she react? will she remember how awful she felt, and how much she cares about entrapta, and refuse, or will she give in for the sake of power?

entrapta didn’t get mad at scorpia for repeating herself or fixating on one topic (in her case, catra). she simply verified that scorpia had told her this before and then let her continue talking about it. i think this is particularly interesting because entrapta has probably been told to shut up countless times because she wouldn’t stop talking about her special interest: technology.

Also can we talk about how adorable Scorpia is? Because she’s a sweetie and deserves the universe

scorpia is amazing. she is so genuine and compassionate and friendly and protective and lovely. you couldn’t ask for a better friend, honestly. also when will she respond to my marriage proposal?? where is my luka/scorpia fanfiction???

it makes me sad to think of her life before she met catra if she’s so excited to be hanging out in someone’s room. we know that the other princesses alienated her because she wasn’t their idea of a Proper Princess, but did members of the horde also avoid her because she’s still a princess? was catra the first person to truly accept her?

regardless, i’m glad that she’s found happiness with her super pal trio. it’s what she deserves. she has so much love to give!

even though catra can be abrasive, and is resistant to being referred to as scorpia’s best friend, she does truly trust scorpia. that is huge for catra, given that she’s just suffered (in her eyes) a major betrayal. even after scorpia revealed that she was a princess, which catra instinctively distrusts, catra continued to trust her absolutely. it’s hard to doubt scorpia’s good intentions when she’s…herself

Honestly, both sides seemed more interested in what Entrapta had to offer than in her as a person. She sounded more as an asset instead of a friend and her relationship with Scorpia and Catra managed to feel more genuine than the one she had with the other princesses.

to an extent, yeah! catra is clearly using/manipulating her in order to gain power, but scorpia just sees entrapta as a cool new friend to hug. in comparison, the only one who seemed genuinely interested in entrapta as a person on the rebellion side was bow. perfuma clearly had strong regrets about how she interacted with entrapta, but i think they could’ve been good friends if they’d had more time; perfuma was just frustrated that entrapta kept endangering their mission, which is understandable.

i’d be…intrigued to see catra react to entrapta realizing that catra was only using her and thought of her as an annoyance otherwise, like everyone else. i think it might force her to confront the reality of the path that she’s going down, because, like adora said, catra is not a bad person. if she sees someone who has done her no wrong hurting because of her own carelessness, she might have an epiphany.
