ador-ita:

Hordak is actually a really interesting, believable villain, and I think a big part of that is the fact that he doesn’t live in the past. He doesn’t punish people for acting out or failing if he’s looking to cooperate with them. He doesn’t yell at Catra for failing to recover Adora, because he needs her to be Force Captain. He doesn’t even punish her and Scorpia for hiding a princess in the Fright Zone, because he realizes that Entrapta can be useful. It really sells him as the ‘brilliant technological mind’ he’s supposed to be, and as someone that people would willingly follow. He has much less ego than the typical ‘evil emperor’ type and it’s very refreshing to watch.

wlwscorpia:

ok im almost done but you know what hurts me the most? catra knew their upbringing was horrible. because she faced the brunt of the abuse from shadow weaver, she was quickly disillusioned with her motherly act.

for the longest time, she’s known the horde is shitty. in her mind, the world is shit and she can’t expect to be treated well by anyone unless she’s worth something. she came to accept it and decided that she needed to climb her way tooth and nail to the top.

but she wanted to do it with adora. even though adora was favored, she wanted her future to be with adora. she saw them climbing the ranks and ending up on top together. hence her complicated feelings when adora was promoted without her.

now she’s on her own. she’s pushing scorpia and entrapta away because she doesn’t want to get attatched to them like she got attatched to adora.

catra is such a complex character and im never gonna stop crying bye
